We’ll be operating our Record Store Day Black Friday wish list / request system the same way as year’s past, So please feel free to make your requests after logging in to your account (or creating an account). And while we will try to have ample stock (one of the deepest in the midwest) of all items, please know that some of these products are extremely limited and will sell out quickly.
We will do our best to have ample stock of all Record Store Day Black Friday releases.
This sprawling double album gives you a lethal dose of Bishop's incredibly acerbic lyricism and musicianship, in a much more palatable delivery than previous, noisier efforts. In 1973, a musician named John Wonderling recorded an album for Paramount that the label for some reason decided stood no chance.
Despite having session help from names like Jim Keltner, Chuck Rainey, Bernard Purdie, and Aynsley Dunbar, Paramount declined to press more than a handful.
We have the first four releases in the house now, marvelous LPs from Michelle Mercure, Marc Barreca, Pep Llopis, and now, the extremely mindblowing must-hear 1981 album by Richard Horowitz, 'Eros In Arabia'.
Utilizing flute, synth, and rhythm machines, Horowitz conjures up a faraway terrain similar to that of his better-known colleague Jon Hassell, although this LP is more pointedly psychedelic than anything Hassell ever touched.
And you may have the added nice feeling of supporting a local, independently owned (Strictly Discs, Independently Owned since 1988) business during the holidays.
Bob Dylan brings us the 13th installment of his Official Bootleg Series, 'Trouble No More', which focuses on Bob's dabblings with gospel and faith-centered music.
'Slow Train Coming' (1979), 'Saved' (1980) and 'Shot of Love' (1981) are to focus here, with live/studio tracks from the era and 14 unreleased songs, plus a DVD from Dylan's 1980 shows, and extensive photos and notes.
Strictly Discs will be the place to be this Post-Thanksgiving-Shopping-Melee-Day, also known as Black Friday.
And that's because certain indie stores across the country will be the place to get special releases created just for you, for giving and getting this holiday season, and they're scheduled for release on Black Friday, November 24, 2017.
